WALTHAMSTOW SEED BANK

Year 2, Semester 1; 2020

This project explores the conservation and protection of biodiversity in the SSSI-designated site. As the wetlands is a large expansive site, home to many rare endemic species of flora and fauna, my proposal offers a direct solution to preserving the state and quantity of these species in the local region.

The intervention consists of a low-impact, minimally constructed seed bank and visitor centre in which public users can immerse themselves in the importance of wetland biodiversity, as well as a private research centre and storage facility for the processing and archiving of endemic seed species for seasonal renewal.
